Behind the Scenes of the Freedom Gathering

The Freedom Gathering is our signature event for Amigos Brotherhood Charities. It’s how we raise money to support kids, veterans, and families in this community, and now heading into our second year, it’s starting to take on a life of its own.

Make it stand out

Most people see it as a great opportunity to get out and ride for a good cause. Bikes lined up, people hanging out, stops along the way, and a lot of familiar faces. The afterparty brings in the next level of fun with games, raffles, silent auctions, a vendor marketplace, live music, food, and beverages. It’s a lot of fun celebrating in the white mountains. It’s set up so whether you ride or not, you can still show up and be part of it.

But what people don’t see is everything that happens before that day ever gets here.

Behind the scenes, it’s weeks of planning and a lot of moving parts. Coordinating the ride, locking in stops from Holbrook through Snowflake, Taylor, Show Low, and back to Heber Overgaard. Working with places that are willing to host, making sure timing lines up, making sure people know where to go and when to be there. None of it is complicated on its own, but when you put it all together, it takes a lot of effort to make it feel simple on the day of.

Then there’s everything happening around the event itself.

We’re lining up raffle prizes, working with local businesses, bringing in vendors, and building something that feels like more than just a stop on a ride. You’ll see food, drinks, people hanging out, and a full day that starts in the morning and carries all the way through.

What makes it work is the people.

Local businesses step up and back what we’re doing. People donate raffle items. Volunteers show up early, stay late, and handle whatever needs to get done. It’s not one group carrying the load. It’s a whole community behind it.

That’s what made year one what it was, and it’s exactly what’s pushing year two to be even better.

The Freedom Gathering is open to everyone. If you’re part of a club, great. Solo? No problem. Don’t have a bike? Sign up and join the ride in your car, truck, or side-by-side. Every dollar raised goes right back into this community. It supports kids, veterans, and families who need a hand. There’s no middle layer, no confusion. It stays right here where it belongs.

If you’ve been thinking about getting involved, now’s the time.

Register and come ride, or just come out for the afterparty at AZTEX Coffee and Taproom in Bison Town. Bring friends, bring family, and see what it’s all about.

If you’re a business owner, step in as a sponsor or become a vendor at this year’s marketplace. This is a chance to support something that has a real impact locally and be part of something people are paying attention to.

If you’ve got time, volunteer. There’s always a place for people who want to help, and it makes a difference.

And if nothing else, help us spread the word. Tell people about it, share it, and help us keep building something that matters.

That’s how this thing grows.

We’re heading into year two with more support, more momentum, and a bigger opportunity to give back than we had before.

We’ll see you there on September 12, 2026!.
